Since its historic debut in 1986, Boise State's blue turf has been the most recognizable field in college football — the first non-green artificial turf ever installed in the world. Now, for the first time, the legendary playing surface of Lyle Smith Field at Albertsons Stadium is brought to life as a museum-quality art piece — merging an original architectural sketch of the stadium with authenticated game-used blue turf cut directly from the field itself.

The Art

Hand-rendered in the tradition of classic stadium architectural illustration, this 36" x 24" piece captures Albertsons Stadium in stunning detail — the sweeping grandstands, the horseshoe shaped upper levels and at the center of it all, the unmistakable blue of Lyle Smith Field. Integrated directly into the artwork is actual authenticated game-used turf from the field, seamlessly woven into the composition where the playing surface lives in the illustration. The result is something no print, poster, or photograph can replicate — a piece where the art and the artifact are one.

The Craftsmanship
